The South Carolina Department of Education launched,a website offering digital teaching and learning resources for teachers, parents and students during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

"We strongly invite and encourage teachers and parents to use this website to help navigate this challenging time in South Carolina,” said State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman. "We are continually working to support remote learning as we navigate this time.”

Gator Families,

WIS is currently closed to the public. If you have not returned your materials yet, please do so as soon as possible. Our Summer hours are (9 AM to 1 PM) Monday thru Thursday.  We have limited staff during the summer. We advise that you call before you make the trip to school. We will be closed during the week of July 4th. 

This drop-off list includes

Our district will be providing lunch and breakfast for all children under the age of 18. These meals may be picked up at the back of Waccamaw Elementary School from 11:30-12:30, Monday - Thursday.  If you don’t live in the Waccamaw area please check the district website for other school locations in Georgetown County.  

Teachers will post lessons to their Google classrooms for students. Online office hours for teachers will be from 8:30 - 10:00 A.M. and from 12:30 - 2:00 P.M. Students will be able to email, message, or send Remind messages to teachers during those hours for help with assignments. 

Spectrum is offering free internet service for families that may not have internet in their homes. To enroll in the program please call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.

HTC has partnered with GCSD to provide free wi-fi during this challenging time. HTC is providing free wi-fi in the parking lots of the following High Schools: Andrews, Carvers Bay, Georgetown, and Waccamaw from 7am until 7pm Monday through Friday. Look on your device for "HTC free wi-fi" to connect. No password is required. Content restrictions are in place. No streaming video will be allowed and no sites with explicit content.
